Pecan Pie Porridge
This is a perfect quick, simple, healthy and delicious breakfast recipe.
Rich in vitamins, minerals, fibre and in omega-3 fatty acids which provide a super boost to the start of your day.
For those who love anything flavoured with cinnamon.
Serves 2
Takes 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 80g oats (optional use gluten free)
- 320ml milk (dairy or plant based)
- 4 diced medjool dates
- 1tbs maple syrup
- 2tbs pecan nuts chopped
- 2tbs mixed seeds
- 1tsp cinnamon powder
- sea salt
Method
Place the milk, oats, cinnamon, chopped dates, maple syrup and a pinch of sea salt into a pan and heat gently on the hob.
Keep stirring the porridge for 5 minutes until cooked.
To Serve
Pour the porridge into two bowls.
Add the chopped pecan.
Sprinkle the seeds.
Optional: Drizzle a little milk over the top.
Tips
Add more milk if you prefer a looser porridge consistency.
