Prawn Cocktail
A quick, easy and tasty prawn cocktail to prepare.
Rich in Vitamins from the B group, Vitamin E and Omega-3 fatty acids.
A great lunch or main recipe.
Serves 2
Takes 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 240g cooked prawns
- 4tbs mayonnaise
- 2tsp tomato ketchup
- tip of a tsp Dijon mustard
- pinch paprika powder
- pinch ground nutmeg
- 3 drops tabasco
- wedge of squeezed lemon juice
- 6 cos lettuce leaves
- pinch sea salt & black pepper
Method
Make the Marie Rose Sauce. Add the mayonnaise, tomato ketchup, Dijon mustard, paprika powder, ground nutmeg, tabasco, lemon juice, sea salt and pepper into a mixing bowl and stir well.
Add more sea salt, black pepper, nutmeg or tabasco to your own taste.
Add most of the prawns to the Marie Rose Sauce, (hold back a few for garnish) and stir.
To Serve
Place the cos lettuce leaves around the edges of a glass serving bowl.
Place the Marie Rose Sauce coated prawns into the glass.
Add the garnish remaining prawns.
Add a wedge of lemon to the side of the serving bowl.
Sprinkle ground paprika.
Tips
You can make your own mayonnaise but for ease use a pre made one.
This also makes a perfect ideal packed lunch box.
Food Produce
Ideally use organic food produce where possible.
Visit your local food suppliers or farmers market for fresh produce.
Consider the animal welfare when selecting fresh meat,poultry, eggs and dairy.
Select foods that are ethically sourced.
Ideally know the provenance.
Consider eating more sustainable foods.
